Email Footers, Unsubscribe Links, & CAN-SPAM Act Compliance
Every email sent through Parthenon automatically includes a footer that helps keep your messages compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act, the U.S. law that governs commercial and informational email.
The good news: you don’t have to build this yourself. Parthenon generates the footer for you using the information in your account settings.
Below is what to know, why it matters, and how to make sure everything is set up correctly.
Why email footers matter
The CAN-SPAM Act requires most emails to include three key things:
-
A clear sender identity
- A valid physical mailing address
- A way for recipients to unsubscribe
If these are missing or incorrect, emails can be flagged, blocked, or reported as spam.
What Parthenon adds automatically
Every campaign sent through Parthenon includes a footer with:
-
Your sender name
- Your sender email address
- Your mailing address
- An unsubscribe link
This footer is added dynamically at send time, so it always reflects your current account information.
You'll see something like:
Parthenon Labs
1606 Headway Cir, STE 9651
Austin, TX 78754
teamparthenon@parthenonmail.us

Where this information comes from
Parthenon pulls footer details directly from your Account Settings:
Account Information
-
Organization name
- Mailing address
Sender Identity
-
"From" name
- "From" email address
- Footer email address
Note: If you update these settings, your email footer updates automatically.
About the unsubscribe link
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that is easy to find, works without logging in, and immediately opts the recipient out of future emails.
This is required by CAN-SPAM so we handle this for you automatically
⚠️ Warning: Do not remove the unsubscribe link. Emails without it may be blocked or marked as spam.
